This is the last castle we visited! The small town of Rigny-Ussé is on the Indre, not far from Chinon. The castle there really looks as if here the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale took place.

Chateau de La Belle au Bois dormant |
The French name of the castle is then: Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant .
There were not any ticket reductions here. The castle is privately owned and is owned by a real living Duke, who lives even here! And he must ensure the preservation of the building. Part of the castle was surrounded by scaffolding.
It is interesting to walk through the rooms of the castle. By established dolls in period costumes you can well imagine life at the castle. Although it is not a royal palace, there is a royal bedroom. It was created for Louis XIV, who had signed up for a visit, but then he did not come.
Sleeping Beauty, we could also see. In several areas the story was illustrated by dolls. A bit of Walt Disney, but still entertaining.
