Mas des Arenes

This was the name of our holiday resort. A "Mas" is a Provençal country cottage. This designation you will find often for rural inns or hotels. In fact, our "mas" was directly next the arena, the bullfighting arena. Therefore the name.

Now, our holiday resort:

The swimming pool was the centre
of the resort

It is a colony of holiday homes grouped around a big swimming pool. A sufficient parking lot is directly in front of the reception. It is protected by a security code. Friendly young ladies speaking French and English (but not German!) manage the daily business.

Our holiday home with two levels for 4 people (maximum could even sleep 6 people) consisted of 2 bedrooms each with 2 beds, a bathroom / shower with toilet on each level. All a bit tight and little space for storage. Below it was a spacious kitchen with lots of kitchen accessories such as a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker and plenty of crockery and cutlery all kinds.

A large terrace with garden furniture could be entered from the kitchen. A little garden (well,"garden" = somewhat exaggerated) with flowering oleanders joined them.

The kitchen we have often used. You do not always go in the relatively expensive French restaurants.

Too bad it was no wireless internet in the house (only for additional charge - € 20 a week). But you could have free internet in the reception. Yes, the internet seems to be indispensable!

The price of the house was sensational. We booked very early and paid for 4 people and 2 weeks € 400.
